Diploma Track Frequently Asked Questions
Hello Pirates! We hope that you are enthusiastic about selecting your courses. Below you will find information about your elective courses and instructions on how to complete your choice guide.
- Choose your 4 electives. Rank them 1-4. You will not choose any other core courses. These will be selected for you based on your Benchmark scores and your grades.
- Remember, at least one elective must count for a PE credit. Band, choir, and General PE count as PE credits. Students may choose ONE more elective in addition to the PE elective.
***You may take Band and Choir.
***You may take PE and Choir or PE and band. - Students that require ELL or Resource Tutorial will be scheduled by Counselors. *ELL and/or Resource Tutorial will count as one (1) elective.
- Choice sheets are due by February 12, 2021.
- Gifted: Only select “Gifted” if you have already been placed in the Gifted program and have a GPPDS form on file with the school.
Additional Information:
To be enrolled in an honors course, students must meet certain criteria. If students are placed in an honors course, the criteria will be reviewed after the first nine weeks. If a student does not maintain the criteria in place, students will be removed from honors and placed in traditional courses. All changes require approval from the administration.
